early in the morning

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

early in the morning

blisters on my patience
riding the lightning
a short-circuited heart

waiting to rest
amid chaotic normalcy.

That short-circuited heart is such a powerful image....makes me wonder whether pacemakers work for broken hearts. Thanks for sharing.

I love the peaceful days. I have few.
"waiting to rest

I understand the above lines. Life had more twist and turns and we hope. We can land on our feet. Thank you Jacob for sharing the amazing poetry.

Hello Jacob, I resonate with that chaotic normalcy, for doesn't that seem to be the norm these days and often the best we can hope for, never knowing what might be the spark which sets off new changes and restrictions.

And then, there's always having to deal with noisy neighbours... one of the things which blisters my patience!

It sounds like the song. Early in the morning just as the day is dawning. The Only thing is, you have to end with, ditto, ditto. Hopefully we're all two jabs away to freedom. Looking forward to ordering a drink.

LOL "chaotic normalcy" that should be printed on one of my covid masks! I haven't a clue what is normal anymore if normal walked up and punched me in the face I wouldn't recognize it:/ I suppose the only thing i could say for sure is normal is a never

Oh my. I have had some sleepless nights recently. Blisters on the patience is just a perfect way to sum up the ongoing loss of freedom and company. I am right with you when it comes to wanting some rest. How I would love to put my head on the pillow and instantly drift into dreamland. I can't remember when I last slept for longer than two hours without waking up. You speak for many of us my friend. I am not liking the new normal.
