Redemption's Anarchy

Redemption's Anarchy

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Redemption's Anarchy

purging my purgatory sachet

love's scent aspiring

towards heaven

but punishment for dubious deeds

all the leavings I needed

because my doubts ascended

there is no holiday or holy day

for that,

I am just a simple being

precious perdition

takes me a step closer

to the angel in you

who spreads wings of comfort

over me

and my in-between heart

I have kept in the drawer

for an eternity...

dear Poet... along the way... we have experienced
the kindness of a stranger... I am pursuing a reason
to pull my sweater inside out and give myself an airing
to a seafaring orphan lost at Sea. tenderly, Pat

thank you for your words, dear Pat,

fantastic infer placed in this one, it grabbed me and gave a sense of uneasiness... that in-between heart I know so very well:/ cautious and scarred and yet so very brave for it still manages to pulse a cherishing beat now and again my brother poet:) I have said it a thousand times and I will always say it... the true measure of a life well-lived is how many hearts you have touched, and how many hearts have touched yours:) Methinks you have this in spades teacher and poet

Gentle caution held within this fragile yet powerful piece Jacob. The heart is a tender thing but not without strength, sometimes we learn from things such as listening to the heart, beautifully woven poem Jacob...

Always my pleasure Jacob :)
Imagine getting to the pearly gates and asking for redemption, you can just see Peter checking the sin book and then realising it goes on a bit. Oh sorry, that was actually me. I like to think someone up there would want to see you again, maybe say hello.

And in-between heart kept in a drawer...

That line I can definitely relate to. When we have had a soulful love it is hard to give our hearts again for we know it will never be the same. We keep them safely ticked away for we aren’t sure what to do.

Thank you, my friend.

The title caught my attention right away, and the contents inside did it more than justice. You managed to really write anarchy, sentences and words you’d normally not fine together, but in a gorgeously written piece that works extremely well. I love the term ‘in-between heart’. It has so many interpretations, but for me it means a confused heart that maybe can’t decide. I really enjoyed this and you certainly have a way with eye catching titles that do not disappoint!

Two thoughts come to my mind. One is that you may not believe in perdition, redemption purgatory or have anything having to do with them, but you may struggle with it. You are basically an anarchist and a simple man.. So I believe that this may all a personal vendetta.
Thought 2: You mention an 'in-between heart"...I get the feeling that you have had (or still have)a troubled relationship at some time. But the"angel in perdition" has saved your love" .....a memory "Saved in a drawer"....Maybe you are still uncertain. I tried!!!
Best always, B

Hello, Jacob! :)
Maybe you've been bad, but you're worthy of love. I think st Patrick's day is the holiday for that. You can get really drunk and let people know how you really feel about them. Haha

Ah yes, the honesty pours out of a bottle.
thanks, Matt.
I love this poem. It is full of oxymorons. First, the title Redemption’s Anarchy. Redemption, a chance to be freed, to let go of the guilt.
Anarchy, total disorder.
But put together it is so logical and clear. It makes sense.

Precious Perdition

This entire poem is beautiful. Phrases that are coherent but would not fit together normally.

There is no holiday from purgatory ... that empty waiting room of perdition ...

Angels come in many forms perhaps even in that group of Guardians we seldom recognize until they have gone. The tell tale thump of that empty heart rests in that sticky drawer that is so hard to open.

Regrets!!!

Good write j.
