Away

Away

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Away

my antagonistic brain

attacks the heart in me

somehow penetrating layers

of camouflaged angst

causing me to flee the scene

of my own life.

thank you, Lale.
appreciate your words,

Oh yes, we have days like that. Anything to escape the worries and the stuff mulling around in our heads. Don't you just wish we could press a button and blank it all out? How the heart suffers. So concise, but says so much. Lovely write Jacob.

Thank you for your kind words, brother bunny!

You never disappoint... in love with this, and the precision you've executed here as well! A sentiment I'm all too familiar with; although, I've been trying to face the scene more and more as I get older. Great write!

If only we could escape. If only the angst and the worry could be left behind as we whisk away to a better place. I don't think the brain will allow it though. Always a joy to read and it still amazes me how you can write so many wonderful poems and never bore me. Lydi**

Yes, I know you are as honest and straightforward as they come...:))))
Ah, how often i've wished to get away.
Away from my own head, even.
Nicely written.
