Bumfuzzled

Bumfuzzled

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Bumfuzzled

white elephants in the room

tagging me with their tusks

digging deeply into my dilemma

the one I cannot name

nomenclature of monotonous myriad

of thoughts that flummox me

as I try to shoo those ivory pickers

playing their piano tunes of woe

to just let me go

they are too valuable

not to be free to roam

away from this room

in my head,

where I am trapped in my heart.

that's the sort of thing that would drive me to go back to the bottle:/ luckily I have the attention span of your average bunny rabbit thanks to my neurological condition:) so most often I pay them no mind until like a lightning bolt an emotional rebuttal surfaces out of nowhere and I write them out:)

bunny rabbits are really cute, though, even if they have short attention spans.

purple balloons and a blood orange umbrella.. the only way to deal with marauding white elephants.. or.. you could just have a white elephant sale and keep the balloons and umbrella for the next traveling minstrel show..
I have always enjoyed my foray's onto your page.. one never know quite what to expect but it's always delightful..

Thank you for your kind review, olla,

at least to me, I love the way you explored the elephant in the room idea. And sometimes these things trap us.

There's me thinking you only had Hank and now you have elephants in the room too. Best ignore them Jacob, then they might go away of their own accord. Busy bodies are a pain in the backside.

Sounds like these pesky elephants need to find something better to do than dig into your problems of which you don’t know how to speak of
