in and out of jeans

in and out of jeans

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in and out of jeans

i am the expectant father

of miscarried dreams

the ones from my pregnant aspirations

born from a lustful moment of maybes

and then,

removed in traumatic indifference

the little bodies grown cold

as i grow old

and my womb spits out afterbirth

of fantasies

unrealistic conjugal visits

with a me that got locked up in solitary

confinement

to while away time

in refinement

of those miscarried dreams

adopted in consequence

by someone with more capable

genes.

Powerful, hard and wonderful thoughts shared Jacob.

The above lines. I felt and I understood. We do create self-made prisons for ourselves. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are welcome Jacob.
Repetition of miscarried dreams. Such a loss when our plans don't materialise. When our expectations are shattered. When those plans are taken over by someone else.

I felt the trauma here. Sad piece.

Liked genes and jeans.

I got a real feeling here of being replaced. Someone else stepping in to your shoes.

Some poets spend their life in Jeans with a T-Shirt engraved with Willy Whisky and Wisdom …
and some poets wear dresses with “cold shoulders” in Summer… and Fur in the Winter.
