First Draft

First Draft

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

First Draft

a plea for passion

some words unsaid

fingers traverse skin

tapping out letters

love is written in waves

of synchronization

as bodies linger

single spaced

an essay in mime

a feeling acted out

symmetrical paragraphs of touch

theme blunted

conclusion blurred

as to what exactly occurred...

We have a script on how we want things to go on a date or relationship but it’s all the other things which get in the way or alter the plans. Maybe it’s all about adapting and acting, take 1, lets do it again take 2 etc. one more time act 3 take 5. Excellent write.

Penning a poem, that first draft is somewhat like the first time you get intimate with someone special. You want it to be a big hit. You want it to be memorable. Maybe you don't want to think about a second or third draft, all your efforts are going into making a purrfect poem :) Now look where I have drifted J. Wonderful write.

Good god man…this is sooooo good. The waves of synchronization, damn that whole stanza is perfection. Love and literature, yeah, they are synergistic.
