If/Then

If/Then

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

If/Then

violent love

battered heart,

impetuous intensity to crescendo

always a short mileage journey

when the eyes and touch

override the sense of speeding

into some brash infinity

that knows no better

violent love

crushed being

the sash is drawn to shadow

she embraces a certain shallow darkness

the rush to judgement

impaired the reality

that the bed will freeze

even as it is still warming

you just never know what you are getting into until you are too far in to get out unscathed, or unstrangled if this is about the missing Gabby turned homicide. You just never know who you can trust.

Hadn't been thinking about Gabby, consciously Corset, but maybe subconsciously...
thank you, .. read more
Love can sometimes be so harsh. I'm sure we have all experienced those moments. The brutality of love is
something beyond my understanding. Love is that tenderness we wish to share and hopefully get in return.
To be loved and to be loved in return, I hope and pray this what you have .

Take care - Dave

To either love or not to, can be a rush of feelings...

such thoughts of the source of love. well expressed

Wow, i feel a few things from this, someone with a cold heart o cold feelings/ yet the feelings of doubt but yet love could remain or linger even if it has gone cold. Nicely written

I appreciate your review very much, Unspoken,

Has the sound of domestic abuse to it, of one wrong word leading to an explosion. There may be apologies tomorrow, but that bed will definitely be frozen tonight.

A vivid & valid tapestry of the mind that races ahead to the next thrill, "even as it is still warming" *sigh!*

thank you, Margie,

such a powerful one Sir J, I feel here two things, using "sex" to search for the higher love, trying to fulfil a desire that it seems can't be quenched, or to release some love pain, unrequited one... an image of prostitute comes to my mind too, or it can be too, two lovers try to find their way to "lovemaking" not sex and they don't know how to do it. to love intensely and deeply can lead to love violently, I read somewhere (don't love deeply, because when it will be gone the wound will be deep), well the problem comes when You don't know how to do it lol still wishing You all the peace and happiness, always a pleasure to read You and dive into your words.
