A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

.

it's an autumn breeze

sifting thru

,,,,,,,,,,,  with commas touching my mind

and my keys are breathing

cool crisp air of inspiration,

            of exasperation

when thoughts flatline

before that leaf outside my window

can find its stanza

as it parachutes to a complete stop.

The punctuation idea is so clever here Jacob...the pausing to take in the seasonal launch into another line and the beauty captured is magnificent :)

thank you for your kind words, Ruth,
j.
I do hate it when a piece starts out well and then, halfway through, grinds to a halt. it's better than a block, but it makes me feels as though the muse is teasing me.

OMG! this is so creative and inspirational! exactly as You were telling me what October feels for You, though might be strange that I feel as if a release was almost there, like a poem was about to be written then it dead somewhere else not on paper.

So you turn to the outside world when your thoughts are flatlining and your eyes alight on that solitary leaf as it departed the branch and became a poem. I saw it too J and in perfect slow motion. The natural world is a refuge to me and many. We can learn so much through observation.
