A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

beginners

she kissed me blue

I froze on her lips

we were only 13

the woods by the old Catholic school

shielded us from prying eyes

from the nuns who would

have made us say ten rosaries

for the invasion onto each other's portal

no penance enough for that infraction

by the time we melted

from melding

in osculation's welding

the woods had been leveled

to build a new convent

and I was in the advent

of higher education

only having executed

five of those rosaries.

First politics stuff and now religion, I like your style,
There will always be a higher level of education and standards
I like this, I've attended church since i was a baby and still go,
it is sad to see how things are changing around there...

Steeped in the guilt of religion was your beginning. What a sin to be in those woods and to be kissed. With age comes wisdom my friend. You found it and the rosary beads are now redundant. I understand this as I was a regular churchgoer at 13 and attended the cross bearers club for teenagers run by the church. We didn't play much but we certainly studied those commandments.

Always welcome honary bro :)
Ever since St. Augustine, dogma has sought to rein in testosterone. Age has been far more successful.

Age always ends up winning, we can only hope to contain it for as long as possible.

To be a beginner has its thrills in the newness of things. But there's much to be said for experience as well. A good write. F.

thank you, Fabian...I always wonder what Jean V. is doing now.
I myself never said the rosaries even though I went to a catholic school. I did, however thank the woods a couple of times for giving us adaquate cover. Good one, J.

Rosaries are lovely prayer beads that seem to feel
our anxieties. a touch of forgiveness and always remembered
when fields of flowers bloom... or in the Autumn when Leaves grow old
with Colors of Magenta and Gold... tenderly, Pat
