A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Voices

write faster

said my thoughts

weep slower

said my eyes

poem yourself to sleep

said my better judgment

wake up with a new heart

said my wit

as I drifted off

to laugh

and they quieted.

Okay, now you're putting us all to shame. This is too slick while also being gritty (((HUGS)))

The right thought for the right moment is like sifting through the rubbish, for me anyway.

Thank you for your words, andrew,

Your muse is very much present at night. She takes the stage and no doubt when you are oh so tired, she is still taking curtain calls and is reluctant to leave:)

My muse quite often visits during my many sleepless nights, and together, line by line, we work the details, but come morning I have been left alone and my daytime muse then tends to fill in.
Actually, just looking for it now
Never where you want it!

Yes, neither is ever where you want it, it is where and when she wants to come.

The senses some more apparent than others, yet, ultimately, it's the heart that rules

Gee
The wee dark hours magnify the smallest thing many times. I find this happens mainly with work matters. My "muse" seldom visits and when with me doesn't really help much :))
Hope you are well Jacob

This speaks to my inspiration and muse I often hear in the late hours of the night. They tend to have more clarity in the early dark of morning. During the day not so much so. An excellent write my friend.
