Shackles and Shite Rhymes

Shackles and Shite Rhymes

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Shackles and Shite Rhymes
the grammar police
arrested my poem
bound the lines in cuffs
threw the words into the slammer
thus the theme
I was trying to hammer
home,
never found its freedom
to be.

The grammar police and the poet police , where would you be without them bringing law and order to the poetry world that sits on the edge of chaos, dreams and reality.

Hi Jacob, you gave me a smile with this one. I am lucky I am not in trouble with the grammar police, spelling is not my forte, neither is pronunciation. Still, the meaning is clear. I, for one, shall try and be more careful with what I write, especially as far as the rhymes go. I should rather have no rhyme than forced rhyme. I also love the fun in the peace. Have a wonderful Friday....Mike.

You are welcome, Jacob. Have a wonderful Saturday....Mike.
Possibly it was stammer yammer got you into the slammer
N’ a clawhammer might get U back out
But to be at peace with the police its something to cease
Either that or perhaps your niece is a decent mouthpiece
Just sayin

WOW! and that is ME!!!! just BE You Mr. J, never lock yourself into something You don't feel it, some find freedom in writing with many styles and different forms, others feel the opposite, we are different and we can't be the same, though as English being not my native language the grammar police and I became friends long time ago lol

I would say there is no place for shite rhyme other than the slammer. Rhyme has to be done well or not at all. Beware the grammar police. Ha! They can be a force to be reckoned with. This poem made me smile J.
