The Monday BluesA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoThe Monday Blues I found my mind when Heaven faltered Angels rebelled when physiology commanded stronger than God and we all fell down through clouds of mislaid wisdom the Good Book became repugnant because shadows over the soul distort what to believe what to believe a rhetorical religious fallacy that we are all created equal and God has his eye on us all there are slums and starvation and misappropriation of funds for learning and white collar and blue collar and no collar because ties are only for the fortunate to wear to funerals and others wrap a cardboard box around the
deceased and pray to a God they've never seen in their neighborhood and wonder if he is a mythical creature who might ride next to them on that bus that takes them to a block less traveled by those of their stature and then they stand before a Church with golden arches a happy meal and uniforms on young people who do not look like servers at mass from what they were told or read in books they found in trash bins the throwaways of the fortunate and they sift through garbage hoping to find a second or third hand tie to wear to their next dinner fabricated from a handout that will drown in a bottle of forget. erin-cilberto 8/8/22 © 2022 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
