a flutterance

a flutterance

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a flutterance

a butterfly sting

perplexing occurrence

and i just thought

beauty could only fly softly

but ripped wings retaliate

against the closest heart

on which to alight.

Ouch. Some of those soft wings can pack a punch. What a flutterance. Powerfully conveyed J.

You are very welcome.
No Jacob, beauty can fly like s bullet in a whirlwind, as I know to my cost. There is much truth in the wisdom of humour, as the great Billy Connolly once said "beauty is indeed skin deep, but ugly goes right to the bone."
I think he was hinting that the paper thin facade of beauty can hide true ugliness. Damn those makeupologists 😉

yes,.....

A type of butterfly can fly at a speed of 60 miles/hour. I can only imagine what it would feel like to be hit with a small fluttery thing coming onto you at that speed haha. I definitely like the title...flutterance sounds like a portmanteau of flutter and utterance to me. "Flutter" sounds frolicsome, and "utterance" gives it some weight and seriousness. Nature is beautiful but need not be gentle always.
