A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

CNN Reports

the West end

of a heart

evacuation is imperative

the tears will flood away

what's left of love

drown the impetus

to move on,

you were so beautiful floating

away

i refused to vacate what

was left of us, clinging

to a notion, scourged

by the storm

i suppose there will be

a state of emergency

and funds allocated in the form

of smiles and best wishes

but there is no insurance

or assurance

that we can rebuild

so maybe relocation

will be the only

option,

if the poetry cannot put us

back together.

Deeds are Done … and we become another struggling Country. The Culprits need to be taken to an Island in the South Seas and cultivate their own democracy… if they can Walk on Water. Amen

It's a well-developed, relatable metaphor. Much like the quick bites of news, you cut directly to the message. Frankly, it's better than anything on CNN. That's the problem with the world, I'd say, too damn much bad news and not enough good poetry. And, you'd think with the short attention spans of today, poetry would be more popular. The emotion certainly comes through, too.

I agree....we need more poetry and less graphic sensationalism for news.
