Hi, I am...

Hi, I am...

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Hi, I am...

my words joined group therapy

introduced themselves

received the usual greetings

spoke of their shortcomings

took turns being embarrassed

then took a seat

as the latest poem

received its token

of sobriety from

another heart addicted

to a bottle of tears.

Jacob,

This poem is beautiful and does express heartbreak most majestically and profoundly ...

thank you once again, Marvin,

Your words come one day at a time. Twenty-four hours a day. Perhaps you keep them in a Big Blue Book where they can stay anonymous? This was a good poem. Caught me off guard. Brought back memories. After some thought, maybe I can find a little serenity.

I want my poetry to make people cry and drink. I read the ancient poets and I hope. They know we remember them. I don't like my poetry. I see weaknesses and I know. Just write and leave them alone. I enjoyed the poem. I like the feel of accepting what is, as what is. Thank you Jacob for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you Jacob.
In alcoholic anonymous group therapy help along with other measures to become sober, writing helps to be sober from sadness, frustration, relaxes mind and goes on. Really thought-provoking writing with footing on facts and truths.

Your poem was adorable I couldn't resist the 12 step intro
Dear J, I sense you smiled as you wrote this poem. I did. A fun write. While probably from time to time most of us would benefit from group therapy for problems encountered on our journey through life, your poetry does not need therapy :))

There are lots of hearts addicted to tears. Way of the world.

So much Tragedy to deal with these days… we need therapy…as I myself am in group therapy with Possums and the like… the Red Fox has a clever way of dealing with the mischievous Raccoons… Just sing a Looney toon.. and they will be off and away. gently, Pat

I have never been in group therapy. I have seen it portrayed on Law & Order, among other shows. Your words sum up the situation perfectly, and I imagine we would all feel the same way. Well done.

Wonderful write, therapy can be helpful if one feels the need. I find that just writing my words helps in many ways. I do love the last lines ( another heart addicted to a bottle of tears)
