a poet's eternity

a poet's eternity

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a poet's eternity

after the mortal coil

circumnavigates

ashes contemplate

keys await

it's a coil that spirals in both directions .. when it completes it's circumnavigation ... perhaps is where the sparks fly .. out of the ashes the Phoenix arises and poets speak .. if we are lucky .. of course it can all go up in flames, ashes disperse into the nether world of the muse .. stored for another time .. maybe another poet. ;) enjoyed the inspiration I received in reading my friend .. thanks always for sharing your poetry and familiar "voice".

Couldn’t help thinking of Boston’s song Dust in the wind. Language, writings and music always live on after the creator has died.

Hey, but Boston...excellent group...saw them in concert.
I just hope I can remember where I put them after I get to wherever it is I'm going. :)

maybe with your car keys?
Lately, I cannot remember where I put anything.
So after we're gone and our ashes "contemplate" our poems live on to those who want the key...so we are really eternal then....our legacy lives on for those who have the key and want to open up the poetic world.... Nice J.

Ah yes, how a poet's real work is never complete, for even long after our first travel with death, away from the mortal coil, the soul and seam of the written words open another's idea. How lovely it is to think we almost live on through others' works, thanks to their inspiration, arising from the ashes. A very, very Intriguing read, my friend. ;3
