Love

Love

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Love

trust is a goddess

turning gold to rust

a jewel cracked by a stone

love

and we become

the diet for the deity

to swell her belly

love

the afterburner

in Hades

the fire burnt out

just an empty hull

a sinking boat

in a Titanic sky

of what is now

mistrust

the goddess surveys

her work

laughs heartily

at the mayhem

and tells her man in the sky

"trust me forever

and I will never be with you"

love

Your poem explores the paradox of love and trust, depicting love as both a divine and destructive force. It suggests that trust can be elusive, leading to pain and disillusionment..

I enjoyed the simple yet meaningful background., Also great language choice. Words like "goddess," "gold," "rust," "jewel," and "mayhem" enhance this poem's thematic depth. Juxtaposition of divine imagery with decay and destruction emphasizes the duality of love.

It invites us all readers in contemplation of the often-painful paradoxes of human emotion.

Thank you for sharing.
