Atlas Imagines

Atlas Imagines

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Atlas Imagines

flamboyant chatter

nervous narcissist

curtails truth

in cul-de-sac fashion

trapped alone

sun parts orange logic

he squints at the moon

in the dead of night

thinking the world is his

when the reality is

it spins on its axis

counter clockwise

to his fading dream.

Lately, we all sympathize with Atlas having to shoulder the weight of the world on his back. I, for one, hunger for quiet times and less BS being shoveled very moment of the day.

That orange logic!! Can’t help wondering where it will end. We live in a world too focused on colour, too focused on politics. Best to keep away from media outlets to keep sane. Now that is easier said than done j.

It cannot fade soon enough for me.

Jacob,
I've been thinking about this over the last few days, the lack of genuine things to allow into our space. It's an old idea, I think, for folks to want to rid themselves of the dross, and keep only those bits that are of a highr quality, made of gold and worthy of our surprisinly limited time.

Poor Atlas. He was made to shoulder the weight of the world. I've felt that way sometimes. I read a book called. Atlas Shrugged. It was very good.

Sure would like to try to.

Some sit back and hope things get better, some step up and try to make things better regardless of what those sitting on their arses might think. I have always looked forward to the day when the color of someone's skin wasn't used against them, even if it is purple.

I totally agree, will.
And Purple is quite a good color.

Very clever, I know what this one is about, let's hope we all make it out okay...

I have a feeling we will...maybe with some divine intervention, Amanda.

Oaft the second half of your poem is such beautiful imagery.

…spins on its axis
counter clockwise
to his fading dream

That’s the magic right there, sir!

A brilliant take on Orangee and the famed Atlas; Atlas might have a crazy competition. Hehehe
