A Love Affair Through MusicA Poem by Erica RossA pounding feeling like subwoofers in a '98 Cadillac Strong, like a sip of dark Cognac Wet as the ocean teasing the sand Forever lingering like the scent from your sweet skin Heavy debris fills my heart from this sweet sin Trying to get a taste of your deep in Hoping not to fall off the deep end How it all plays out, I guess it depends. Your intelligence is so sexy to me Like sugar and spice, we're connected, you see. I may sound conceited to some degree But I just know that my edginess draws you near to me. I want to ask you this favor of being more than just a neighbor, of being more than just a number of beautiful beings I've collected through slumber. I want you as my new muse I want you as my new boo And we'll call it the new blues Pounding like subwoofers in my old school. © 2016 Erica Ross |
