Dawn Reclaims It's Harboured Pearls

Dawn Reclaims It's Harboured Pearls

A Poem by S. A. Venus

velvet hands meet rusted flesh
dusting sinews from a pensive brow

whilst eons have traversed each measured breath

these eyes have sailed on the winds of trepidation
so long that silence precludes danger

and where pearls of thought once harboured
dreams of ordinary men now gather
whispering jaded memoirs among the shadows

oh such a restless waltz
the waves of heartache always dance

leaving tears to spill their stain on barren pages
carving chapters of eternal regret upon the heart

yet as the tendrils of darkness unfurl
a fire rages with untapped fury
scorching every last vestige of insanity

and in the pale shimmer of morning
as the final tear is shed

the sun speaks of feathers yet to flutter.

You are a writer. I had to read this poem a few times. So many good visions create by powerful statements.

About
I have a tendency to write mostly "free verse", I have written some lyrics and they will appear on the site gradually. I don't like being defined by style anyway, I just try to convey a message or at .. more..
