Subliminal Talons

Subliminal Talons

A Poem by S. A. Venus

fingers of fear
run with icy steps
from collar to posterior

hollow sentiments abound
preserving securities facade

subliminal doubts
so sharp and scathing

fiery gardens laying waste
to all perceived self respect
shallowing further a fragile mind

cascading demons
bury their talons deep
within cortex tundras

feasting until the last seeds of dignity
are stripped threadbare

distant screams
from remnant consciousness
become shards of intrusive light

and the once dark and ashen leaves
shading the forest of sorrows
transform into a lariat of liberation.

Some nightmare can seem real. Dreams are the doorways to our real life. I like the poem. The description create a wild vision. No weakness in this poem. Strong words and good story made this a outstanding poem to be able to read. Thank you.

I have a tendency to write mostly "free verse", I have written some lyrics and they will appear on the site gradually. I don't like being defined by style anyway, I just try to convey a message or at .. more..
