Standing In The Shadows

"Why does it always hurt?

Why I am so weak?"

 

Gentle and so fragile like a flower I am

Anyone can easily crush me

 

Yet you stand strong

Even though it hurts

 

This flower will not cry

This little flower should not cry

 

Being hated by the other flowers

Getting made fun of by the prettiest rose

 

Being seen as nothing

More than just a simple weed

 

A lot of flowers

Push this little flower around

 

Yet this fragile flower

Stays strong

 

Shall not shed a single tear

Won't give in, or show fear

 

Gentle flower...

 

You fell in love so many times

Even though it was never 'real'

 

Little flower, you got hurt

You still stand through the pain

 

Not saying anything

Just staying silent

 

The prettiest rose

Pushed you down, to the ground

 

You said

 

'I'm okay.....this doesn't hurt...'

 

The other flowers

Take you for their own use

 

And you hurt

Yet you don't cry

 

Little flower you stay strong

But how much longer will you stand?

 

You met another gentle soul

Who knows how you feel

 

Yet you keep your thoughts to yourself

Standing in the shadows

 

Hiding from everyone

Your 'friends' don't really care...

 

So you continue to hide

 

Your eyes are sad

But still you're fine

 

You always get hurt

You always burn

 

You never cry

 

The other flowers make fun of you

They hurt you so much

 

Even today

You still stand...

 

Standing in the shadows..

 

How much longer will you last?
