Apriciate What You'e Got

Being judged by everyone

Then acting like you're "okay"

 

Going through another day

Just makes it worse

 

You watch in the backround as a child

When your parents argue

 

Running out the door

Into the street

 

Watching as cars go by right past you

Still hearing your parents argue

 

Going to school the next day

All stressed out

 

Seeing your name on the board

Almost 10 times, for unfinished projects

 

Sitting next to your friends

One of them ask you a question

 

You just give them attitude

Even though you never meant to

 

You go home

You found out that your dad left

 

You go in your room

And just sit on your bed thinking

 

'Why is my life so messed up?'

 

Your mother laughs, and tries to cheer you up

Saying that you're both better off without him

 

Your mom seems to okay

But you can see through that fake smile

 

You know that she wants to cry

But you just go along with what she says

 

A few weeks later

Your mother starts dating someone

 

At first you can't accept the person

Then you learn to live with them

 

You look back

And wonder about how could of things gone wrong?

 

You just sit down and think to yourself

 

'My life seems messed up... but I shall not complain. Others have it far worse.'

I really like it, though I think that you can change some of the words and the repetitions. Like here :

"You watch in the backround as a child
When your parents argue

......

Watching as cars go by right past you
Still hearing your parents argue"

Maybe you can change the second line with something like "Still hearing the fight behind". Not that I want to sound like some professional writer, just sharing :)

Apart from that I like the poem and I can say that I can pretty much relate it to myself.
