Edelweiss

Edelweiss

A Poem by Earl

I don't feel you understand what I mean by love
I love the wave pattern of those tiny hairs on your skin, they only remind me of peaceful vegetation.
I love the tiny dot acne on your skin, proves you're not even perfect.
I love the curly hair at the back of your neck, that makes you a doll.
I love how you smell, ambrosial and peachy.
I love how you eat, reckless like toddlers in a food fight.
I love how you blink, twice when I say "I love you" and a thousand times when you're upset.
I love how you walk, like a baby goblin your steps are the worst.
I love how you touch, like your very nerve end has electric in them.
I love how you moan, it's subtle and sweet and then furious and loud.
I love how you laugh
I love how you nag, this makes you humane.
I love your soul, it's a beautiful energy or vibe or whatever the kids call it these days. One might say I am obsessed, but what better way should one describe love.
And in a world of plenty and no love to give, I'd always choose love.
what better way to live.
