Goodbye Spokane

Goodbye Spokane

A Poem by Mackenzie

Celebration.

One of joy.

And sadness.

The food is prepared and eaten

Memories are shared and contemplated.

Liquid courage the kind I know so well leaves the bottle only to ease the night into a dream state, which there won't be any escaping, as least not til morning.

Chance

On someone not new or old, but stagnant in this place and before, hopefully after

On letting a need for passion over rule my desire for self respect

A chance I'm glad I took as someone and I walked the flooded side walks along the river, talking nonsense, laughing and holding hands.

Knowing we won't be seeing each other soon enough.
