The Question

By: Ethan West

If I bring a word to tattered page

Will there be man to read my word?

To hear my sorrows and my rage

And love if I allow a third

I sit before this broken glass

A mirrored, broken, tattered dream

My love for life has made me last

Tis what I hoped, and what it seemed

But I must wonder in my heart

Was this poem meant to start?

Featured Review

This is the most realistic poem I've read in a while.

"If I bring a word to tattered page
Will there be man to read my word?
To hear my sorrows and my rage
And love if I allow a third..."

Those are my most favorite lines of this poem (insert heart here)

I may be the wrong person to do this...I do not mean to upset anyone...But I have to say what I think...Every time I do someone else comes in and rips one of mine to shreds...I am not going to do this with yours but I do think that the last line is a bit forced...the rhyme in my opinion need not be there...it could read Was this poem meant to be for instance. I have been lambasted by tutors for rhyming unnecessarily in serious verse...It is fine in comic stuff but Poems of a more serious nature benefit from a more disguised approach...Sorry to go on and hope I have not upset you or any of your obvious fans...What do I know. A good write nonetheless

I believe so yes. Even if no other man may read it. You, yourself can read it and let out some of those emotions through written word. Then maybe, after that dream decides to fix itself, others will get the chance to read what was supposedly never meant to be. Just what I believe anyways. A thought provoking piece, well done ^_^

I am still learning about poems as I have stated before, and once upon a time I thought all poems should rhyme. Now of course I know better. This was ery well written. Good job.

Words can gain life and gain value with time. I wonder will anyone read my word or am I wasting time? I believe need writers and poets to write the truth. Thank you for the writers of the past. Many were consider mad in the past. Today their words tell of the truth of a old world we need to remember. Thank you for the outstanding poetry. A Poet want their reader to think. You did.
