Moonlight DanceA Poem by ewest1220"My soul would then show..."Moonlight Dance By: Ethan West By the moon and its light In a clearing below My sorrow was fierce My feet moving slow It threatened to pierce My heart at the glow Of the moonlight so bright As white as the snow By the moon and its light A wind blew so soft It lifted my head And held it aloft Playing its part In the moonlight so bright And so it shall start By the moon and its light I began my dance The grass swaying in time As if in a trance My sorrows align In the moonlight so bright To the beat of my dance By the moon and its light The wind blew her here And into the night She drew ever near But there was a sight On her face bore one tear In the moonlight so bright My dance halted here By the moon and its light The wind rushed through our hair Our eyes on each other Our minds not a care The night then did smother Our sorrows and wear In the moonlight so bright We danced then and there By the moon and its light She faded away My mind had created Had led me astray My spirit elated So joyous and gay In the moonlight so bright I stand here today By the moon and its light She never existed My sorrows and woe But when she insisted My soul would then show My sadness uplifted In the moonlight so bright My spirit persisted By the moon and its light I cease in my fight I lay down my soul I give up my might I regain control Over sorrow and spite In the moonlight so bright I dance here tonight © 2012 ewest1220Author's Note
