Inhaled Excuse.

A poem about my own particular bad habit.

Cigarettes are my excuse,

Excuse me from this situation for a cig or two,

Uncomfortable, unsettling,

A cig makes things seem fine,

Avoiding life discrepancies, drags with some sips of wine,

Lightening effect, anxiety, 

It lessons much degree,

While nudging me into the dirt,

But that's okay by me..

I've written maybe three poems in my life; I've always preferred to tell stories a different way. Hope you enjoyed.

AMAZING , it's as if the cigarettes are some people's chance to escape, even if for a minute or two. I have always been curious to writing about the symbol and meanings of cigarretes and how although they kill us , they have this connection with us. I DONT KNOW MAYBE IT'S JUST ME. AMAZING ANYWAY!

But I have no connection to my breaths...They simply happen. Same for time. And steaks, maybe ( if you like meat), but not in a companionship sort of way. Cigarettes become a way of life, almost a friend when you don't have a friend. I really think there's a difference. At least for me; everyone has their own pastimes.

I do not believe you could enjoy your cigarettes without breaths or minutes or steaks (or some other food). Therefore they all seem quite important.

It's okay to tell stories a different way than most normally would. And with poetry, it's totally possible to tell a story within just a few lines. Without saying too much or too little, you get everything in that you wish to say. But you know, since you write stories different than most, sometimes different is always better :) In my opinion it is...i wouldn't know what others might think. Haha.
And yes, cigarettes do ease pain and make things better. It takes stress dwon a whole 25 notches, more or less. It makes your head faded and helps you think. Just that one hit can make even the toughest things better.
