Plentiful Though Less Fulfilling

Plentiful Though Less Fulfilling

A Poem by Kahtia Howard

It's a more plentiful life, more satisfying but less fulfilling.
It is similar to biting into a nectarine where some areas are bruised and rotten,
but in the parts that are not bruised
it is the sweetest, most ripe, juicy, and delicious nectarine
a tongue did ever taste.
Now the tree is specked full of other nectarines
most ripe and perfect of texture-no bruises to be seen.
But when biting into their golden exterior the taste
is not as sweet, they're flavorless and more dry,
less desired to the tongue, but can still be eaten.
Though while consuming, the tongue remembers the taste
of the sweetly bruised nectarine.

Seems a "bit of life" flavors things - in your thoughts. Flaws are a moth's-light to some and burned fingertips have that - lip and tongue-touching satisfying ...edge.

Careful, your "truisms" will soon be showing.
