No Currency In Divorce

No Currency In Divorce

A Poem by S. Michael Long

bless me father for i have sinned
I conjure up things god ended

to begin again

just because he ends something
doesnt mean it has run its course

i dont waste my time with failure and i hold no currency in divorce.

planets rotate while the galaxy moves
there is no record head spinning in a groove

everything wasted, and nothing gained

spending all of our time
in division of conjecture and what fruit we gain from blame

never more and nothing less

the sacrifice of fools
who keep promising until death.

I don't know that I will ever marry again. But I tell you this, that the decision to divorce did not come easy and it pains me still to this day that it was one I had to make.

This piece puts it out there very clearly that diciding to divorce should not be easy and to treat it like it is yet another tool to be used in a relationship is aweful.

Great write here.

I don't believe that I will ever marry again. I am a widow but it seems that too many look at marriage as a temporary thing to do and if it doesn't work out then they just start over with no qualms. Very profound writing.

This is deep writing. And the title? :)

I love these lines - "i dont waste my time with failure and i hold no currency in divorce." and of course the last two.

Good job!!
