Empty Hangar

Empty Hangar

A Poem by exotic flotsam
"

A poem about a cancer, and a scared young woman.

"

Empty closet

Empty hanger

Piss yellow hospital walls

Chemo again

The same room

But alone

Someone moved out

Away from me

No cellmate

I sit

I like my hair

I like my friends

I dream of wind blowing my hair

With my friends

Friends there stay with me

Friends here just die

Away from me

Fear’s tears fall

Into the sink

Away from me

My hair falls

Away with my hope

I am bald

I am afraid

I resent

I mock

Alone

Me

Empty closet

Empty hangar

Random but when I got to the authors note it was the first time I saw your picture…first it startled me and then I laughed which made me feel terrible…after reading such a heart breaking write, it was incredibly inappropriate.
“I like my hair
I like my friends”
…was the breaking point for me because I could sense where you were going with it and I didn’t want you to
Saying it is a great write doesn’t seem right because of the subject matter but it’s a great write and so I must acknowledge that!
