The Lessening

The Lessening

A Poem by exotic flotsam
"

A poem about a child losing the battle against cancer. This not my life. I got the idea by walking by an open ward door. In the instant I passed the door, I sensed bottomless anguish and despair.

"

Under my wing, I tried to save you

Like fine-spun gauze

My graceful pastel

I cannot stay your evanescence

Your silent cry

Your voice, flickering smoke

Transparency transcends

Your emaciated skin

Into inky dark veins

Stay my darling baby

Why do children die young?

its fuken unfortunate that kids have to go through diseases like this one. I assure you their will be a cure very soon and without any secondary bullshit effects. All those people and thier families woun't be put through this torture ever again.
