Five Letters or Less

Five Letters or Less

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

I wrote ihis poem for a contest, but was too late to enter.

"
Entering a poetry contest,
I want to write my best!
The judge likes poems that rhyme,
so I'm composing and taking my time.
You may find it absurd,
but the judge doesn't want any six letter words.
I'm going through a bit of stress,
as he wants the words to be five letters or less.
But, now that I have begun,
I think that I am almost done.
It's been easier than I first thought.
I just hope the judge likes it a lot!

I'm anti-rules. Hard to create with a five letter limit. Can be done. I like your thoughts and the positive ending. Always a pleasure to read your poetry and thoughts. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I'm fine. Very slow to answer. How did you do with the contest? I hope you are feeling good.
Hehe, I liked this a lot. Writing can be tricky, and even stressful sometimes! :)Too bad it was too late to enter, I thought this was great!
