Why do I crave for autumn in spring?

Why do I crave for autumn in spring?

A Poem by Fairy Khan

This incessant desire
for the autumnal browns,
and my eyes unwilling to see
the hopeful hues of the spring...

I wish I could bury
the echos of your sweet nothings
and the songs
of your hollow whispers
where you left me,
clueless
of the treading eternal winters.

And if I could,
I would go back to that summer
when your fathomless umber eyes
looked at me
like I am the only one you can see
and turn away,
so that I wouldn't have to
stand here, ravaged
of my dignity and shame.

And above all
I wish I knew what I know now,
that people change
just as winds turn
randomly and irrationally
and sometimes give rise to
storms and hurricanes,
blind to the damage
they beget.

And this incessant desire
for those autumnal browns,
and my eyes still unwilling to see
the hopeful hues of the spring,
without you.

Well actually, many go through such moments where no creation on earth can understand the pain than the one who suffers. Bubblegum relationship, chews and spat on the ground. We have to move on.... loved your flow in the poem, thanks for sharing! Be blessed :)

The above lines. I did like a lot. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

This is a powerful word tapestry blending images of autumn with a tangled storyline of love longings. As an old person, I can also see "autumn" as being a time late in one's life. When young, we want to move forward faster, but then we get old & we want to turn back to a different season. Even tho your poem pretends to be about looking ahead to autumn, I'm reading quite a bit of looking backward at summer, & this contrast of seasons creates a nicely discordant mishmash that mirrors the confusion we feel inside when we start thinking some other time was better. You portray the woman scorned well in this emotionally charged verse. Indeed so scorned that she feel the comfort of the cold and dark in which to cool her wounds.

Great imagery, the autumnal as an ending and a spring as the beginning. And not wanting to begin without the other. Not wanting to start anew without the love of the previous summer. A good write, it touched me.

We always long to go back to the ones we love and the times we shared our joys of being together.

That's right.
So much beauty of expression in these poignant lines. Your sadness touched me. People do change just as the wind changes direction and when that happens and you are no longer part of their plan it can be incredibly hurtful. A lovely read Fairy.

why couldn't I have known you would leave me...so that I could have saved my pride and left first...
when all things should spring to life, they fall....and now i want to just bask in the cold that became you.
