Moloch

Moloch

A Poem by Doll

grey light like tidal waves;
crashing down on mortality
from distant lives;
sounds echo off the walls

inbetween the rush of day;
i. eat. heart attacks.

children playing with shards;
the noisy streets filling up
devil's corner ever changing;
heedlessly moving delivery

grieving the silence gone;
i. eat. heart attacks.

forlorn days beyond us;
the stillness otherworldly
thundering down below;
the sonance ubiquitous

leaving the night behind;
i. eat. heart attacks.

coma flooding humanity;
desolating enemy lines
carelessly clean judgement;
assembling new bases

collecting the sacrifices;
i. eat. heart attacks.

Interesting reference Doll. Indeed mankind has brought forward the practice of sacrifice to the demon gods. In the days of the Ammonites and Hebrews it was sacrificing infants on the burning alter of Molock. Today it seems to be sacrificing the young to the god of war.

Interesting is how the ancient Hebrews participation in the practice indicated their deflection from true worship. So where does that leave humanity today?

Very dark and revealing poem Doll.

I had to look up the word to understand the poem. Thanks for the new word. I see wars as children play and I hear the silence of death.

We don't know where we're going. Everything seems to be shattered into apparently inconsistent snapshots, although there is always a recognizable design even in the deepest darkness. You used a very powerful imagery, really well done.
