The Girl Who Stands Alone

The Girl Who Stands Alone

A Poem by Fear Corrupts!

                              The Girl Who Stands Alone.

I'm the shadow in the night.

Visible but not clear.

A sketched outline,

cast from nothing near.

I'm the girl who walks alone.

Thinking about the world.

Hating the fact that the world hates me.

Not even acknowledging the bitter cold.

I'm the crying child on the steps.

Penetrated not by help.

Reachable but not touchable.

Healed only by self.

I'm the girl who stands on water.

Not belonging where I am.

Solid not liquid.

Not water but sand.

I'm the girl who stands alone.

The first and last stanza's stand out to me....a true insight to the disconnected. I felt the feelings of seperation. Very well done.

It's as if you wrote this poem for my but that's just my self-obsessive tendencies :) Marvelous work.

I'm the girl who stands on water.
Not belonging where I am.
Solid not liquid.

Loved it. The sense of not just being nothing but caught in between all those other things that surround us, not belonging or becoming any of it, not moved by touch or anything else, just beyond it and below it all.
