A Willow's Resting Place

A Willow's Resting Place

A Poem by RingLeader Anonymous
"

cold closing in,life fleeting. And yet your only desire is to save that one person who means more than your own life. You want to protect and keep safe, Yet the cold and near death is closing in. . .

"

When the willow starts to bend

we'll be home there once again

in the safety from the wind

in it's old worn branches

curl up in to me, we will sing the song of sleep

as the storm begins to blow

we'll be safest from snow

even when the snow does fall, we are peaceful most of all

as we meet up underneath

the great old willow tree

even when we're covered by

all of the snow that's let fly

you'll be safest next to me

under that great willow tree

now I know you're getting cold

we must wait a moment more

for the war we left behind

is leaving us all blind

so just curl up in to me, safe together we will be

even though the wind may blow

I shall keep you safe and warm

                                                          even when we're covered by

all of the snow that's let fly

you'll be safest next to me

under that old willow tree

even if we die here tonight

it was still worth the fight

even if death is what we see

you'll be found here next to me

saving you was my desire

but we grew stiff without a fire

our lives were slowly drained

as the winter wind's soon gained

even when we're covered by

all of the snow that's let fly

you'll be safest next to me

under that cold willow tree

my last words to you will be

how I failed protecting you and me

I hold you now, even when you're still

this willow tree will be

the resting place of you and I

You may die from the cold

but we will die of

growing old

                                                          even when we're covered by

all of the snow that's let fly

you'll be safest next to me

under that sad willow tree

but as for me

I am waiting,

underneath that old willow tree

as the seasons pass

changes grow

and people clash

I'll be waiting through the snow

to once again

see you to live

but it died with me as just a dream

I never again saw your face, in that willow's resting place

even when we're covered by

all the memories when they died

you'll be safest next to me

berried underneath that tree. . .
