The Argument

The Argument

A Poem by felioness

when friendship sours ...

When did you become
This thorn in my side?
This ganglion
Buried deep in my gut?

When did you begin to scrutinize

Flagellate and fillet
Why this sudden need to cut?

When will you start to face
I'm not who I used to be?
Does that really matter
Why can't you talk to me?

F**k! Do I need an Alma Mater
To indulge in daily chatter?
I'm confused Because it appears
As if it really matters

Yeah I'm confused
Because it appears
As if it really matters...

Bitterly spoken insecurities
Are making my heart bleed
This competitive one-up-manship
Has turned vile, sick...obscene

And I, for one,  am ashamed
By this whole damn flaky scene
If you got a problem

deal with me

Face to face
Head to head
She to she…

You're so restless in your skin
I won't even try to begin wouldn't listen anyway
So what's it matter.

You're so restless in your skin
I wouldn't even try to begin
To tell you I couldn't possibly
Feel much sadder

Such a sadness and anger and confusion... and all mingled profoundly line by line... You create an emotional state where one is lost and no escape route can be seen. Powerful.
