Toxic Snake

Toxic Snake

A Poem by Esther
"

9/20/16

"

The toxic snake flared her glassy fangs
And lashed out her venomous bite.
My eyes were open wide when the storm hit--
A tempest of poisonous chaos and broken hearts.
The toxic snake's venom seeped into my heart
As the deafening thunder clashed louder and louder.

When the rain settled and the thunder dulled,
The snake was long gone--
Slithered away within the jungle of self loathing ignorance.

I looked at the gray sky through tear-stained eyes
And thought to myself
"Nobody needs a toxic snake,
For they only cause a storm."

I really liked that part, it's almost like how words/actions of people feel when you really think about them and let them get to you...

No problem...
When the rain settled and the thunder dulled,

Slithered away within the jungle of self loathing ignorance.
