"little gentle person"

"little gentle person"

A Poem by fhamie

one night shift
working at the big dim room
this little gentle soul
never fail to capture
my full attention.
i stop and say "hello! sweetie".

i put my caring hands
in two holes of the incubator
and quietly...
my one hand on the head
and the other at the body
gently rendering
containment holding
enough to make this little gentle person
feel the love and attention.

surely, this baby didn't want to come out too early
but for some reason has to face life outside mom's womb
growing in an incubator
as her protector
waiting for her nurse and doctor
whilst mom and dad hasn't come through the door.

Fhamie, Delightful little poem here. Tender, tender, tender! In it I found that loving caress that one yearns for no matter how old you get. How one pines for those arms.

Wow...This completely takes my heart away...It's just so sad to think of poor little souls born too early.
