What Exactly Am I Worth

What Exactly Am I Worth

A Poem by Jane Doe

One of those days,
You're biting your lip,
Threatening tears,
For no reason your heart begins to rip.

Slowly each vein tearing,
Agonizingly slow,
Deathly slow,
But yet the blood does not flow.

You ponder why,
Yet to question fate,
Is that a sin, but I laugh,
At your innocence, you're late.

Wishing I could be so niave,
So clueless to the horrors of the earth,
The pain and strife held in a mere life,
wondering exactly what it is you're worth.

We all wonder what we are worth as each day of our life is presented. I question this a lot, nearly every day or whenever something wrong happens. But I do what I can for each day, trying the best I can, no matter what anyone says or thinks. I don't care what others think, as long as I'm doing the best I can for myself. It's okay to question our worth, but just don't doubt how others may feel about you, people care about you, even if they aren't able to show their affection and feelings all the time.

What are we worth? What am I worth? That is a very good question...

Lol...it's mini brat...you are very welcome, Pinay Princess. :)
This poem asks a very important question that I believe everyone has asked themselves. Self worth is an important thing in life and knowing it and how to determine it is also just as important. While it will be different for everyone... I have found through my life that worth is the amount of happiness you can bring into the world. It's not about what we the individual feels, for that pain is what teaches us how to truly appreciate joy and happy moments. Without it... happiness would be just as non-existant.

In the end, we're all left to either be source of that happiness in this world or not.

Thanks for sharing your ink!
