Predestination

Predestination

A Poem by Richard McLin
"

Knowing that the person of your dreams is not meant for you.

"
I dreamed of your face
before I saw it
but it was looking at another.

I dreamed of your voice
before I heard it
But it was for others to listen to.

I dreamed of your touch
before I felt it
but it was not me you were touching

I dreamed of you
before I met you
but I was not, I'm not
the one for you.

Sometimes your dream woman or man, your ideal perfect person, is also someone else's, and this is about what that feels like.

So beautiful yet sad in the fact that we can have loved someone that special soul mate for a thousand years or more and know that they are meant to be with you but if you finally get to meet it seems as if it was not meant to be? Beautiful i feel every word and its depth

Thank you for the review. Was something I put together quickly. I'm very glad you liked it.
Wonderful twist of words. Love is trickery. It seems we never get what we truly want. Thank you Richard for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome Richard. I enjoyed your work today.
I know the feeling. Sadly that is human life, sometimes our feelings are not meant to be corresponded not from the one we would like to, but by someone unexpeted, and not just relationships but also with dreams and goals, and when you have to close a chapter to start a new one.

You are welcome.
they say there is someone for everyone but can be like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. not enough for us to want them, they must want us as well. the stars must align. your words tell a harsh reality. i know this all too well. poignant.

Thank you very much.
Quite spare and evocative. Captures perfectly that feeling of loss experienced when one finally realizes it was never meant to be.

Thank you. I appreciate the review.
that is perhaps the reason why i don't believe in soulmates. The poem is nicely written.
