Invisible Tears

Invisible Tears

A Poem by Richard McLin
"

Feelings to Overpowering to describe

"
I feel it every time I breath
Invisible tears stream down my face
Constantly unseen by those who can't feel
I know what I'm going through
Why don't you?

I dream
I love
I hate
I lust

And yet there is one
A feeling that trumps all others
I can describe it,
But I don't want you to feel it
Can you feel it?

Sometimes
I think I'm someone else
but then
I wake

I discover I'm still me,
and that I still feel that same old feeling
The invisible tears are still streaming,
and they remain unseen by those who can't feel
Why can't I?

The End.

Richard. I believe we hide tears and real emotions. The sad part of growing up.

I enjoyed this. “I don’t want you to feel it. Can you feel it?” A real and vulnerable feel to this... a dichotomy between what is and what is wished for. Just wonderful.

It's my pleasure! I'm glad you decided to write again. :)
That a mental image this is. That heavyweight feeling of emotions being bogged down and our tears are not even free. Its perfect as is.

A sadly beautiful piece of writing.. emotions floating on the surface of such deep, deep feelings. To feel as you've described is very personal because although others might feel similar, they can never, ever feel the same. There might be powerful language here, there's also fragility, the two make awkward bed.fellows.

Very True.
Remind me of my constant battle with depression since the age of nine, sometimes we feel like a stranger with ourselves and we don't even know why. Sometimes we are up and sometimes we are down.
