A Poem by Cypher Sand
"

This is about a writer finally finding something to write about. Mainly it's a school contest, but I just wanted to post it!

"

The last one finished, he opens his writer,

The line sits there, blinking, waiting,

Its timely mannor of flashes irritates him,

As he thinks, trying to locate an idea.

He thinks, he wonders, he calculates,

Nothing seems any good to him,

He throws his ideas away,

In his overflowed mental trash can.

He thought through dawn and dusk,

The straight line still blinking on the white screen,

His eyelids heavy, now thinking of dreamland,

Dreamland, the idea hit him like a bucket of cold water.

He placed his fingers on the pad,

Buttons lay under his fingertips as he punches away,

The line started moving forward at a steady pace,

He had found his topic.

It can be very difficult writing when there is a deadline. It makes things that much harder, doesn't it?

writing about writer's block, very nice. I really like the idea of an 'overflowed mental trash can'. I also like how you discribe the cursor. The only thing I can really see is that straight is spelled wrong, but we all make spelling mistakes.

How many times have I felt this way? Good job, you really captured the essence of the muse.
I only had a problem with the last line;
"He had found his topic."
This line confused me a bit because all of the rest of the poem is in present tense and this one is in past tense. I would suggest changing that.
However, it grabbed my attention, very good job! Cheerio!
