A Poem by flaneur
"

Inspired by an online photo album.

"

That's not your life.
She's not your wife "
those aren't your kids
beneath her smile.

Trespassing the abandoned path
takes a toll, consumes your soul.
Don't undress what might have been
while the world keeps spinning by.

The wounded heal,
but never feel "
the same again.

Tumbling down a rabbit hole,
dreaming of her sunny days.
That mirage will surely fade...
Going mad from choices made.

Regret rescinds its spindly grasp.
Stifle shame with hollow laughs.
Glamour blurs obscure the burrs
of a diminished, blemished past.

She confronted me with fiery eyes,
asked why it was never she and I.
All I could do was turn aside,
hide from her these scars inside.

How do I explain mistakes I made,
when it's better just to walk away?

I like this. My sentiments exactly as of late. I was just on here looking for ideas on the darker side of FB.

Michael This is a very good effort to come back with. There seems to be more depth and layers to your work. I will be watching for more. Thank you for the read request.
