Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Florencia Vallejo

Solitude persecutes me.
She comes at night,
When I am alone.
She shows me my life
How I am lonely,
And I how I am at fault.
But why is it so hard,
To live on my own?
I fool myself into believeing I am fine
But I just can't keep my mind
From crossing the line
Of the loneliness I drag.
How can I be complete,
If I have a hole on my chest
And an afternoon on my own
For me to scramble through my darkest thoughts?
