Clumsy

Clumsy

A Poem by Floundering About

So easy to get lost
in beauty.  His
eyes glint briefly.  The soft lids
below his eyes seem
to contain infinity.
He just sits there
curled in a blanket, innocently
bearing this gift.  So innocent
that he speaks and drops it.

I liked the simplicity of the story here. What I don't understand is why it's written in a staggered fashion. I think what your aiming for is a childs' thought process. So short sentences and then a movement to another short sentence? Very gentle feel to the words and rhythm here.
