I didn't mean it

My  angel, I'm so sorry
I didn't mean to make you a part
Of this absurdity
I want to resist, please believe me
But I can't help it because
you're so good to me.

I don't want to lose you,
am I selfish?
Now my mind's in a real mess
I won't say 'those words', I promise
What I know is I love this friendship.

Now, I want to cry about it
You're going away, I can feel it
Can't we continue being good friends?
I need you, my angel, please believe this.
