I Know You Still Love Me

I Know You Still Love Me

A Poem by Erin Phoenix
"

Band-Aids :)

"

Pealing off the failure from my face

Shedding off my armor of grace

Tearing all the sadness from my skin

I know you still love me

I can hear you say,

Don't cry my love, it will be fine.

Don't cry my love, it was my time.

Grinding my teeth at my reflection in the mirror

Holding my tears while I burry my face in the dirt of my fear

Scratching off muddy sighs and pouted lips

I know you still love me

I can feel you say,

Listen to me my love, listen to me in the day

Listen to me my love, in your heart I will always stay

Brushing the grains of sand from my brow I swallow deep

Gripping the side of the sink I bow my head and start to weep

Slipping to the cold floor with hands floating over my head

I know you still love me

And I say,

I can hear you my love, I know you are here

I can feel you my love, please don't leave me my dear

Tingling hands and eyes of bed

Dancing fingers and swaying head

Slowing heart and pleasant breath

I know I still love you

this was my favorite part - it was so real, so tangible. this is how it would be. i could feel the pain, and the cold linoleum, and the floor coming closer to me beneath me.

::sigh:: nice :)

It's a good piece. A very brief moment of reflection, regret, longing and bittersweet tenderness. Nicely captured, nicely penned.

Just two typos (I'm OCD like that) "peeling" and "bury." Good job.

Love and light, dear ones.

this has touched the very soul of the spirit that lones to be free to love in me ,
the best writes does not come from ones mind ,it comes from the heart inspired by the reality that we have yet to understand but lone to make it understood,,beautiful needs to be read over and over ,always better than the first time, for fear of it being the last time.love always comes out sounding fresh, peace wizthom wow i am still feeling this

I love it!, you expressed the pain so nice, the pain a lover must suffer when he knows the end had come, try to keep the hope.... but deep inside he knows... its all over , time heel

This is simply more proof that poetry should come first.
