strangers should be more suspicious

strangers should be more suspicious

A Poem by freelancejouster

out of control

automobile,

careening around the corners,

knuckles clenched white,

gripping the steering wheel,

though i've no idea where i'm heading.

car growing to small,

or maybe i'm too large,

legs escaping from

all directions.

beneath the watchful eye of my mother.

and through the trailer park,

we travel,

and find that my brakes,

emit only sparks upon attempts to stop,

over and through mailboxes,

onto porches to ask for help,

and find that i'm left with

only a steering wheel.

a hasty goodbye,

to the helpful stranger

for my feet are leaving without me,

and off i go again.
